The cost of a gift is shared amongst 3 kids. Keith paid €480 more than jack. Keith paid €220 more than the total amount paid by Jack and tim. Jack paid 80 more than tim. How much did the present cost?

K= 220 + J + T
J = 80 + T
J-80 = T
K = 220 + J + T substitute from above
480 + J = 220 + J + J -80
480 + J = 140 + 2J
340 = Jack
Tim is 80 less or 260
Kevin is 480 more than Jack or 820
Add up the 3 values to get the cost of the present.
