I am doing 7th grade algebra, and my homework is due by 9:00 and I don't know how to solve this question:
Find the measures of supplementary angles 1 and 2 if,
A) m angle 1 is less than m angle 2 by 40 degrees

first, recall that supplementary means they add to 180. So, now you know that
A) The two angles are x and x-40
x-40 + x = 180
B) The two angles are 5x and 4x. So,
5x+4x = 180
So, just solve for x, and then you can work out the angles.
