A store has apples on sale for $3.00 for 2 pounds. How many pounds of apples can you buy for $9.00? If an apple is approximately 5 ounces, how many apples can you buy for $9.00? Explain your reasoning?
My answer to the first question is 6 pounds of apples for $9.00.

well, how many ounces in 6 lbs?
Divide that by 5oz/apple to get the no. of apples.

In 11b there would be 16 ounces
so 96 oz divided by 5 ounces would be 19.2 so that is about 19 apples?
