A student sits in the school bus traveling to her school. If the student stands up and moves at 1.5m/s toward the rear of the bus that travels at 10m/s to the east, what is her velocity relative to the observer on the side of the road? If she moves at 2.1 m/s toward the front of the bus traveling at 15 m/s east, what is her velocity relative to the observer on the side of the road?

(I feel if I get guidance on the first part the 2nd I could do by myself)

if moving in the same direction as the bus, just add the speeds.

If moving in the opposite direction, subtract her walking speed from the bus's speed.
