A diver weighing 500N is positioned at the right end of a diving board with a length of 4m and negligible weight. The board is bolted down at the left end while being supported 1.5 m away from the fulcrum.

500 *4 = fulcrum force * 1.5
fulcrum force = 500 *4/1.5
force up = fulcrum force
force down = 500 + bolt force-
so
bolt force = fulcrum force - 500
fulcrum force = 500 *4/1.5
force up = fulcrum force
force down = 500 + bolt force-
so
bolt force = fulcrum force - 500
