Which of the following is a theme of "Day of the Butterfly"?
We all desire to belong- to have a friend***
Girls are fragile like butterflies
You can't change the way people feel about you
A symbol is an object that represents an idea larger than itself

In "Day of the Butterfly," Myra and Jimmy would spend their recess in the little black porch between the Boys' Side and Girls' Side because
Other students did not want to socialize with them
They did not want to be separated***
They could not speak English very well
The teacher thought they should avoid joining cliques

Both questions from the short story "Day of the Butterfly" by Alice Munro. I'm not sure if these are the correct answers. Otherwise, I'd go for D for #1, and A for #2. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
