Here is a thought for you:
What does that adage tell us about psychoanalysis?
Or buying a shiny used car?
Or trusting new friends?

One has to get to the deep content to know what it is. I am thinking of books that have impacted me: Of Mice and Men; Cannery Row; The winter of discontent.
