I am writing a novel, i estimate i will finish pretty soon, within a year or two: I am an Amateur writer- how do i go about trying to publish this book?

Another suggestion -- ask other people to read your ms. and make comments on it.

For a first-time novelist, I suggest you finish the entire book before you send it to publishers. Some authors find helpful feed-back from others who write in the same genre. Check if there are authors' groups you can join.
