I'm so confused!!!!!!!!!!
I need to write out the equation for the reaction between (+)-tartaric acid and (+_)-1-phenylethylamine. I know tartaric acid is C4H6O6 and 1-phenylethylamie is C8H11N. Where do I go from here?

Organic acids and amines usually form amides.
RCOOH + ArRNH2 ==> RCOONHRAr
where R stands for any aliphatic group and Ar stands for the aryl group. You can substitute into R and Ar the portion that is tartaric acid and phenylethylamine and obtain the final formula. I can give you links for tartaric acid and phenylethylamine if you need the formulas.
