a) Find the gradient of the line x/7+y/11=1.
b) the straight line Y=mx+c is parallel to the line y+ 5/3x=7/3 and passes through the point (2,3). Find the values of m and c
The answer for a is -11/7x
And b us 6 1/3

(a)
x/7 + y/11 = 1
y/11 = -1/7 x + 1
y = -11/7 x + 1
The answer is -11/7, not -11/7 x
(b) You have a point and a slope, so use the point-slope form!
y-3 = -5/3 (x-2)
Now just rearrange that into slope-intercept form as needed.
x/7 + y/11 = 1
y/11 = -1/7 x + 1
y = -11/7 x + 1
The answer is -11/7, not -11/7 x
