Take a look at 3 and 4. 3 appears to be a pentanol to me. 4 appears to be a hexanol to me. Check it out.

The ethyl group on both 3 and 4 make the chain one C longer. I can't draw it on this forum but try google the names you have and see how they look then count the longest C chain.
