why is the atomic radius of a noble gas larger than a halogen?

Same answer I gave before; adding electrons to the outer shell makes the atom (or ion) larger. More electrons, each with the same negative charge, repel each other; therefore, they try to get away as far as they can so this means the orbits they are in get a little larger.
