change of momentum = force * time
.320 (40+64) = 755 t
A bat exerts force of 755N on a 320g ball that approaches the bat at 40 m/s and leaves at 64 m/s. How long was the ball in contact with the bat?

thank you!
You are welcome.
why do you add the 40 and 64...should you not calculate the change in them?
opposite directions
64 - (-40) = 64 + 40
64 - (-40) = 64 + 40
the change from 40 east to 64 west is 40+64 :)
understood thanks! i was overlooking the opposite direction
