So I did a science experiment and I have to wrap a coil wire around a nail and tap the other end to a battery. Then see how many paper clips will stick to the nail, and I had to wrap more coil wire around the nail over time and stuff and record the data.
Now I must choose the independent and dependent varaiable in the experiment and I'm unsure....help?

An independent variable is the potential stimulus or cause, usually directly manipulated by the experimenter, so it could also be called a manipulative variable.
A dependent variable is the response or measure of results.
