In a expiriment to determine whether moment is conserved. You shoot a dart into a cart. You know both the mass of the dart and the distance between them. You also know the distance after the dart and cart joined together. The speed can be calculated both before and after the collision. Therefore you can calculate the momentum. What would be the dependant variable and independent variable be in this expiriment and what variables would be controlled ?
