I assume you mean

y = 2√(3x+4)-5

the domain of √x is x >= 0, so here you must have

3x+4 >= 0
x >= -4/3
That is, the domain is [-4/3,∞)

Since √(3x+4)=0 at x=-4/3, the range is [5,∞)
