(-7/8 + 5 1/2) x (11/15) = 3.3917
This will not give the same answer as
-7/8 + (5 1/2 x 11/15)= -3.529
-7/8 + 5 1/2 x 11/15
In order of operations do I do 5 1/2 x 11/15 and then add the -7/8?

Are you trying to say this disproves the Associative property? because the associative property is only if the operation contains all and ONLY addition signs or all and ONLY multiplication signs. Not if it contains both.
