Why is it that only 2% of Americans are involved in agriculture but in other parts of the world such as Asia and Africa about 60% are involved

The U.S. has many large corporate farms financed by big money and needing few laborers because of mechanization. Most Americans can make more money by working in service and manufacturing industries.
