There is a flagpole in the school parking lot. Which of the following is true about the angle of depression from the top of the flagpole to the parking lot, and the angle of elevation from the parking lot to the top of the flagpole? Choose two of the following.
They are congruent
They are complementary
They are supplementary
They are corresponding angles
They are alternate exterior angles
They are alternate interior angles
They are same-side interior angles
A wheelchair ramp has a slope of 1/12. Which of the following is the angle of elevation of the ramp to the nearest tenth of a degree?
3.6 degrees
4.8 degrees
5.2 degrees
6.4 degrees
There is a lighthouse on top of a cliff. The lighthouse is 200 feet above sea level. It can be seen on the deck of a ship that is 25 feet above sea level. If the angle of depression from the light of the lighthouse to the deck of the ship is 30 degrees, then how far from the cliff is the ship, to the nearest foot?
101 ft
115 ft
303 ft
346 ft
Please help, I'm not good at this at all:( Thanks

for the flagpole, draw a diagram. Draw a line parallel to the ground at the level of the top of the flagpole. The two angles mentioned are alternate interior angles, so they are congruent.
the slope is the tangent of the angle. So, what angle x has tan(x) = 1/12 ?
Take a look at the lighthouse diagram. If the ship's distance is x, then since the deck is only 175 ft below the lighthouse,
175/x = tan30°
x = ?
