I disagree. A face-to-face conversation or a soliloquy doesn't need any medium but air.

I agree, but it is not specific on if the transmission is to a group, or public.

I agree, however, transmission is not the totality of communication; Coding, decoding of the message is essential after the transmission is error corrected for transmission errors.
