The answer is: 1631x-5y= 1208

man, there are only about two steps:

y = 326.2x - 241.6

collect x and y stuff on the left:

326.2x - y = 241.6

now multiply by 5 to clear the decimal points:

1631x - 5y = 1208

How did you know to multiple by 5?

well, I could have multiplied by 10, since there was 1 decimal place. But I could see that that would have produced even numbers, which would then have to be divided by 2 to avoid redundancy of factors.
