A new born infant usually triples its weight by its first birthday. Baby Carter weighed 28 pounds on his first birthday. if this were triple his birth weight (b),which equation below-birth weight?

(1) b/3= 28
(2) b-3=28
(3) 3b=28
(4) b+3=28
(5) 3(b+3)=28

I believe my answer that I figured is #1 ?? am I right

1) can't be right. If his birth weight was 9 pounds, then 9/3 = 3
