if the units of a two-digit number is 6 more than then tens digit and the number is 8 more than twice the sum of the digits, what is the number?

units digit -- x+6

the value of the number is 10x + x+6
= 11x + 6

11x = 2(x + x+6) + 8
11x = 4x + 14
7x=14
x=2
