34.375 in (1 ft/.125 in) = 275 ft
What did you do to get 275?
34.375 / .125 = 275

I do it the science way, multiply so units cancel
you can do it by ratios
.125 in/1 ft = 34.375 in / x ft
.125 x = 34.375
x = 34.375 / .125
