The sum of two numbers is 19.Five times the lesser number is four more than twice the great.What are the numbers?I'm trying to figure out if my answer is correct.
5(-b+19)=4+2(b)
a+b+19
-b
a=-b+19
5(-b+19)=4+2(b)
-5b+95 =4+2b
-2b -95 -2b
-7b
-7b =-95
-7
=13
a+13=19
-13 -13
a=6
5(-b+19)=4+2(b)
a+b+19
-b
a=-b+19
5(-b+19)=4+2(b)
-5b+95 =4+2b
-2b -95 -2b
-7b
-7b =-95
-7
=13
a+13=19
-13 -13
a=6

At first I thought your work was a hodgepodge, but further study shows that you are correct.
except that 95/7 is not 13. Should have been 91, so you messed up somewhere.
