A book shelf is 3 1/2 feet long. Each book on the shelf is 5/8 wide. How many books will fit on the shelf?

I don't know how to turn fractions into feet. Help please

Change the fractions into decimals...

3 1/2= 3.5
5/8, divide 8 into 5=0.625

a book 5/8 of a foot wide is not very logical, so were the books only 5/8 inches?

3 1/2 ft = 42 inches
number of books
= 42 ÷ 5/8
= 42(8/5) = 67.2 books ???

was expecting a whole number.

yall calm down im about to shikumaru up in here . there are 3542 books of the same thickness right the room has 321 shelves for most people u just divide but for me ilike to think of it like this. u have to distract the 42 out of 3542 then use ur 35 as a niographic meter to the number of 321 ur answer would be 11 r 30
