Review your chain rule: if
y = a^u where u is a function of x, then
y' = ln(a) a^u u'
So, for this one,
f'(x) = ln(a) a^(-bx) (-b)
y = a^u where u is a function of x, then
y' = ln(a) a^u u'
So, for this one,
f'(x) = ln(a) a^(-bx) (-b)
