I don't like any of them because "agreed/agree to the deal" is repeated, no matter what you choose.

D is just plain awful! Wordy!
C is also wordy.
B is so-so because the repeated phrases are too close together, IMO.
A is not terrific, but is better than the others.

The reason why they agreed to the deal is because they were fair in the end.That makes "A" not the answer. Option "B" is the answer in my opinion. "C" and "D" are obviously out of it
