do you mean 40 cm^2 ? I will assume so
A = (1/2) b h
since it is 90 degrees, h is altitude , other leg
4 h = 40
h = 10 cm
so we still need the hypotenuse
c^2 = h^2 + b^2
= 100 + 64 = 164 =
c = 2 sqrt (41) = 12.8 cm
