what is the difference bewteen a quantity and a number?

a bathroom scale is 20kg mass, and a 50 poud mass
how could you find a unitart rate to convert from pounds to kilograms?

A quantity of something will have a number plus a unit. A pure number has no unit.

I have no idea what a unitart rate is but there are 2.2 lbs in a kg.
