My first thought was my grandfather who owed a furniture store in a small town in northern Indiana. When cars became popular in the early part of the 20th century, he lost a lot of customers. They drove to a larger town to do their shopping.
Cars also enabled people to move farther away from their families. In order to smooth the way for these cars, dirt roads and paths were paved with asphalt and concrete. Since they needed gasoline to run, thousands of acres were dotted with ugly and polluting oil wells and pipelines.
how did the automobile negatively impact society???!!!?!?!
PLZ help me I have been on it since morning plz pretty plz cherry on top help me

thx I have one more how did the automobile negatively impact the enviorment?
Gasoline burned by cars pollutes. Factories that make cars pollute.
Paved roads, streets, highways, and gigantic parking lots promote run-off of polluting agents into adjacent lands.
The automobile also encouraged people to move farther from their work, thus encouraging urban sprawl.
