how can I solve in my head which digit represents the hundreds place in 3250.136

The zero is the units place (think 1 as the unit and that is the first place to the left of the decimal), the 5 is the tens place (think 10 for tens and that is two places to the left of the decimal), the two is the hundreds place (think 100 whih is three places to the left) and the 3 (the leftmost 3) is the thousands place (1000 is four places to the left).
