find the slope of the line and a point on the line
y-4= x+5
I got that the slope is 9 correct? then how do I find a point on the line?

y = mx+b

has slope m, and y-intercept at y=b

You have it backwards.

To find a point on the line, pick any value for x, and then find the corresponding value of y. Clearly the easiest value to try is x=0.
