Isn't Wolfram neat ?
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=integral+cube+root%28x%29+dx+from+1+to+27
area = ∫x^(1/3) dx from 1 to 27
= (3/4)x^(4/3) from 1 to 27
= (3/4)( 81 - 1)
= 60
