since we know the x-intercepts, we can say
y = a(x-1)(x-3)
but (-1,16) lies on it, so
16 = a(-2)(-4)
16 = 8a
a = 2
y = 2(x-1)(x-3) or y = 2x^2 -8x + 6
y = a(x-1)(x-3)
but (-1,16) lies on it, so
16 = a(-2)(-4)
16 = 8a
a = 2
y = 2(x-1)(x-3) or y = 2x^2 -8x + 6
