Halen wrote the prodect 0.4 for the problem .5×.8.Don says that is not correct since when you multiply tenths by tenths the product will be in the hundreths.Is Don right?

2 answers

Don is not right. We often drop zeroes that are at the end of decimals.
0.4 = 0.40 = 0.40000000
Halen is correct because if the 4 is behind the whole number after the decimal point its going to the right and if its not its going to the left so don is not correct.
