Could someone please check my answer to this question:
Evaluate the expression [(x^n)(y) + (y^n)] ^-2n for x=-2, y=3 and n=-1
=[(x^-1)(y)+(y^-1)]^-2(-1)
=[(x^-1)(y)+(y^-1)]^2
=[(x^-2)(y^2)+(y^-2)
=y^2/x^2(y^2)
=3^2/(-2)^2(3^2)
=9/4(9)
=9/36
=1/4

sub in the values:
[ (-2)^-1 (3) + 3^-1 ]^(-2(-1))
= [ 3(-1/2) + 1/3) ]^2
= [ -3/2 + 1/3]^
= [ -1/3 ]^2
= 1/9
[ (-2)^-1 (3) + 3^-1 ]^(-2(-1))
= [ 3(-1/2) + 1/3) ]^2
= [ -3/2 + 1/3]^
= [ -1/3 ]^2
= 1/9
