a = 6 Ft.
b = c-3.
c = ?

a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
6^2 + (c-3)^2 = c^2.
36 + c^2-6c+9 = c^2.
36 - 6c = -9.
-6c = -45.
c = 7.5 Ft. = Length of ladder.
