First, we have to do this: 3a-4+4=5+4. That makes 3a=9. a=3. So, in this case, this answer is: a ≤3. You have to use the Property of Addition.

im so confused can you explain this more all i see is numbers coming outa nowhere and im confused as to how a could be 9 or 3. cuz if its 9 that means it would be greater than 5 and by the equation it cannot be greator than 5

Hey Jeff, and anyone needing help:
To solve this inequality, 3a-4</=5,
Step 1: you need to add 4 to the left side to cancel out the -4, then you need to add 4 to the right side to balance it. Now, you have 3a</=9
Step 2: Since 3a= 3•a, you need to divide to cancel it out. 3a/3=a. Once again, you need to balance both sides so you divide the right side by 3 leaving you with a</=3.
