The length of a rectangle is 9 cm more than its width. If its perimeter is 56 cm,find length and its area?

2 L + 2 w = 56 or L + w = 28
L = w + 9

(w+9) + w = 28
2 w =19
w = 9 1/2
L = 18 1/2
