If the lawn is 20xY metres and the path around the garden is 2 metres wide, what is the expression for the area of the path?

I will assume that your lawn is
20 m by y m.
Make a sketch to see that the area of the path is
(20+4)(y+4) - 20y or 24(y+4) - 20y
simplify if needed
