Write the equation of the line that passes through the points (3, 6) and (4, 10) using function notation.
f(x) = 4x − 6
f(x) = x + 4
y = x + 4
y = 4x − 6
f(x) = 4x − 6
f(x) = x + 4
y = x + 4
y = 4x − 6

except, using function notation, it is
f(x) = 4x-6
f(x) = 4x-6

f(3) = 6
f(4) = 10
[f(4)-f(3) ] / (4-3) = [f(x) -f(4]/(x-4)
[ 10 - 6 ]/(1) = [f(x) - 10] /(x-4)
4 = (f(x)-10)/(x-4)
4 x - 16 = f(x) - 10
f(x) = 4 x - 6
f(4) = 10
[f(4)-f(3) ] / (4-3) = [f(x) -f(4]/(x-4)
[ 10 - 6 ]/(1) = [f(x) - 10] /(x-4)
4 = (f(x)-10)/(x-4)
4 x - 16 = f(x) - 10
f(x) = 4 x - 6
