Converting from a SMALLER unit to a LARGER unit, move your 'decimal point' to the left...(like so):
Larger:
kL
hL
dL
L
Smaller:
dL
cL
mL
. ---> your decimal point starts here
move it to where you see the letter 'L' stops. Think of it as if you are walking 'upstairs' or going 'downstairs'
going upstairs represents from SMALL to LARGE
going downstairs represents from LARGE to SMALL
hope this helps...

    1,298mL * (1 L/1000 mL) = 1.298 L
