Ken borrowed $76.14 from his brother. Last month he paid him one-third of what he owes. Ken told him that next week he'll be able to pay 50% of what is still owed. After that payment, how much will Ken still owe his brother?

You have to turn 1/3 into a decimal, then divide the decimal into 76.14. After you've done that you'll need to convert 50% into a decimal then divide the decimal into your other quotient

Which of the following relations is a function?

A.(-1, 10), (-9, 3), (-1, 8), (-9, -6)
B.(10, 6), (3, -9), (8, -1), (10, -6)
C.(6, 10), (-9, 3), (-1, 8), (-6, 10)
D.(6, 10), (-9, 3), (-1, 8), (-1, -6)

I think B, but i'm not 100% sure
Answered by ter
so how would it be B?
Answered by ter
wait let me try it
Answered by ter
so would it be mabey any of the other choices?
Answered by ter
or just B?
Answered by MsHemmoPenguin
It's would be B, because 6 from (10,6) and 3 from (3,9) adds up to 9.

Sorry, If I do get this wrong. I'm a bit rusty on functions

Amy joined a gym with a $58 enrollment fee. The equation below can be used to find the total Amy has paid, y, if she has belonged to the gym for x months.

What does the 46 represent in the equation?

A.the monthly dues
B.the cost to join
C.the amount for x months of membership
D.the number of months of membership
Answered by ter
and yes
Answered by ter
y = 46x + 58
Answered by ter
that is for the qushtion
Answered by MsHemmoPenguin
I'd say either C or D,

It's not A because the question doesn't say anything about monthly dues
It's not B Because it says she had a $58 fee to join not $46

But, what do you think it is?
Answered by ter
um i think c
Answered by MsHemmoPenguin
Yes, that is correct because C is the only one that is mentioned in the question.

thanks!
