2/(1+i)^4

Answers

Answered by Damon
(1+i)^2 = 1 + 2 i - 1 = 2 i
so
(1+i)^4 = -4

2/-4 = -1/2
Answered by Steve
1+i^4 = 1+4i+6i^2+4i^3+i^4
= 1+4i-6-4i+1
= -4

or,

1+i = √2 cis 3π/4
so, (1+i)^4 = 4 cis3π = -4

I guess you can take it from there, right?
