While working at a yard sale, Ying helps a customer who buys items that cost $5, $2,$2.50, and $0.25. The customer hand Ying $3 and says to keep the $0.18 change. How much did the cusomer think the total was? What mistake did the customer make? Explain.

When I add them all together I get 2.82 not 3.18.

The costumer though $5 and $2 was 0.05 and 0.02, when you add it all together (2.50+0.25+0.05+0.2) is 2.82 when you get that you realize the customer gave 3 dollars and Ying kept 0.18 cents, 2.82+0.18=3.00
