2K^4 * (3K)^2 becomes 2K^4 * 9K^2 because the parenthesis must be removed before doing your multiplication. So the (3K)^2 goes through (3^2)(k^2) to become 9k^2.
From there the constants multiply together and the exponents add together, giving you 18K^6.
