A 600 meters long train travels through a 4200 meter tunnel. Two full minutes elapsed from time the front of the train enters the tunnel until the last wagon exits the tunnel. What is the speed, in meters per second, of the train?

The tunnel is 7 trains long. So, 8 train lengths must pass through the tunnel in 2 minutes. The speed is thus

8(600m)/(120s) = 40 m/s
