    I think B. is the better answer.  The colonists practiced merchant capitalism.

    Kyle, the question is which is LEAST acceptable...Since the colonists practied merchant capitalism, it must be acceptable to them. However, they were not of the mind to be serfs in a feudal relationship with owners.
