I know a cup is 32 fluid oz
but if you do not
8 oz/cup * 2 cup/pt * 2 pt/qt * 4 qt/gal = 128 oz/gal
but I did
32 oz/qt * 4 qt/gal = 128 oz/gal
384 ox (1 gal/128 oz) = 3 gal
but if you do not
8 oz/cup * 2 cup/pt * 2 pt/qt * 4 qt/gal = 128 oz/gal
but I did
32 oz/qt * 4 qt/gal = 128 oz/gal
384 ox (1 gal/128 oz) = 3 gal

by the way:
a pint is a pound the word around.
This is an approximation
a pint of water is indeed about one pound weight
a half kilogram of water also is also about a pound weight and in Europe a half kilo is sometimes called a "pound". That is half a liter.
